PURPOSE/SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for all fund development and fundraising activities, PR, and marketing functions of the Agency
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive goal oriented fundraising
program. The primary focus is the development of an annual campaign, endowment funds, and successful implementation of a planned giving program.
2. Work with Executive Director and Board to research, identify, and cultivate resource development strategies for the agency and its programs
3. Research, identify, and build relationships with national, regional and local foundations for potential financial support
4. Develop and coordinate special fundraising, “Friend of the Family”-raising and volunteer – based activities and events
5. Develop appropriate supporting written, audiovisual and print materials including newsletter, brochures and annual report, as needed to effectively support and market the campaign.
6. Manage agency donor database, including maintaining current address data, expanding database with new potential donors and creating appropriate reports
7. Organize and create donor communications, solicitation and recognition programs and otherwise maintain relationships with donors
8. Prepare grant proposals and required attachments, coordinate follow-up and prepare required reports
9. Work with staff and Executive Director to develop fundable programs that can achieve measurable results
10. Develop and coordinate Family Program with YAD and “Mentoring Match”
11. Make presentations as appropriate on behalf of the organization
12. Serve on Agency committee(s) as appointed
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus at least 3 years of non-profit fundraising and marketing experience that combines endowment, corporate, annual and planned giving. Must have extraordinary ability to communicate and establish relationships with the Board of Directors, volunteers, staff, prospective and current donors, corporate sponsors and public at-large. Excellent composition skills to prepare written fundraising communications, such as letters, grant proposals, brochures, reports and related audiovisual materials. Must have strong familiarity with database management; ability to work independently; solid organizational skills; ability to work effectively in a multi-task environment; and familiarity with Ann Arbor Jewish community and its communal service structure. Ability to staff and coordinate committee meetings and events. This position requires the ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
EXEMPT STATUS:
This position is exempt from overtime pay provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
