WE'RE APPROVED FOR 3 YEARS !

Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County (JFS) has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for a period of three years.  This achievement is an indication of the agency’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the clients served.  Three years’ accreditation is the maximum term that can be awarded.

The CARF report outlined multiple areas of strength at JFS, including:

  1. Exceptional, dedicated, and forward-looking board of directors
  2. Positive, strong, and vibrant leadership
  3. Knowledgeable, capable, highly-motivated and dedicated staff
  4. Supportive funders who see JFS as a model for other community agencies
  5. Respect for the individual cultural diversity of clients served
  6. Dedication to quality assurance and improvement

With goals of long-term sustainability and financial viability, JFS will now be engaged in efforts that leverage the capacity building and financial opportunities afforded by CARF accreditation.  These efforts include moving forward with third party billing for reimbursement of services (i.e., assistance with immigration and naturalization, support for aging in place, and mental health counseling) that are covered by both government and private insurance providers.
