Resettlement Client Career Services

To accommodate the special needs of our resettlement clients, JFS has career services designed specifically for refugee/immigrant groups. The program offers a unique approach to pre-employment training, job development and placement of participants. Career counseling for resettlement clients provides an understanding of the ethics and policies of the American labor market, enabling clients to comfortably enter the workforce. This program is designed for recipients of public assistance and is structured to provide a fast and effective pathway from public assistance to gainful employment and self-sufficiency. Our program offers a variety of activities designed to accommodate individuals with various levels of English proficiency and diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

The JET Program at JFS offers vocational English as a Second Language classes, and Job Club activities including acquisition of necessary job search skills, job development, classroom pre-employment training, interviewing skills and supervised job search.
