Therapy
The stress that living in today's society causes can affect even the strongest individuals and families. Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County can help! Life's pressures can overwhelm any of us at one time or another. Our licensed professional social worker and MSW Student interns are available to assist you with confidential short-term therapy services. Our goal is to provide confidential therapy services in a safe and supportive environment allowing the individual, couple or family to reach the goals established.

- Co-Dependency Issues
- Depression/Bipolar Disorder
- Grief and Loss
- Identity and Life Transitions
- Parenting Issues
- Interpersonal and Marital Relationships
- Social Isolation
- Stress Management
Issues addressed in support groups reflect common needs faced by existing JFS clients or requests made by community members. There are no support groups being offered at this time.
Capacity: Interest in our high quality sliding scale fee therapy services is high. Please be aware that when you contact our Intake Specialist you may be advised that we are at capacity. We do not currently operate a waiting list therefore you may be referred to other community providers if JFS is not able to assist you.Intake: Please call (734) 769-0209 to complete a short telephone interview with one of our Intake Specialists to discuss your needs and goals. Based on your initial assessment, the Director of Crisis Management and Community Services will speak with you to determine if immediate referrals to other community providers are the most appropriate recommendation at that time.
Note: We do not have a psychiatrist on staff. Therefore, we are unable to provide therapy for those individuals who need intensive therapy (more than weekly) and/or medication management. Community Supports and Treatment Services (CSTS) is Washtenaw County's Community Mental Health agency and they are available to serve those with severe and persistent mental illness.
