CARES provides caregivers compassionate support, resource navigation, education and respite to promote health and well-being.

Program is intended to support those who care for someone aged 60+ who live in Washtenaw County. Caregiver does not need to reside in Washtenaw County.

Program services are designed to support caregivers cope in multiple ways:

How CARES Helps

• Assessment to learn about your needs and interests
• Respite care to provide you with time to focus on yourself including:
  • COMPANION CARE: meal preparation, companionship, household chores, errands
  • PERSONAL CARE: bathing, dressing, dementia care, chronic condition care
• Counseling (THRIVE)
• Support Groups (with a focus on general support, spousal support, bereavement and aging solo). Sign up below for each group, meeting online monthly.
  • Caregiver Conversations
  • Spousal Caregiver Support
  • Grief Support Group
• Educational Resources and Skill Building
• Assistance with community resources
• Low fee transportation for you and your loved one (learn more)
• Text Talks. Weekly text message program with information and tips
• Peer support over the phone
• Resource advocacy
