ESL at JFS

The ESL program at JFS is more than a language training curriculum. It is also designed to provide students with social, cultural, and practical skills.
 
We offer classes for international adults who want to improve their English language skills.

• Beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes
• Work-related English skills for advanced speakers
• Emphasis on literacy, life skills, and communicating in spoken English.
• Integrated language skills, including pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing

 
JFS is proud to offer a multitude of classes for those seeking to learn English, or become an American citizen.

In addition to computer training, resume writing, and interview practice, classes regularly include workshops and field skills to help students adjust to their new community and to life in the U.S.
 
A group of dedicated volunteers supplement the teaching curriculum, offering one-on-one conversation practice and additional classes for reading and discussion.
