Reliable, accessible, and safe transportation for everyone.

JFS provides a low-cost transportation option for individuals 60+ or people with a disability to ensure they can attend medical appointments, visit grocery stores, pharmacies, work, or to make attending events and programs at places like Hill Auditorium, The Art Museum, Matthaei Botanical Gardens, etc. possible.
 
JFS carefully selects and hires caring, safe, and professional drivers to provide quality services including door-through-door escorted transportation to older adults needing personal assistance. JFS has an updated fleet of minivans and vans equipped with lifts for all types of wheelchairs.

Client qualifications

1. Client must be a JFS client. To become a JFS client, call (734) 769-0209 and ask for the New Client Specialist to complete the initial screening via telephone or simply fill out this form. The transportation department will then follow up with you to discuss your needs and schedule transportation.
2. Reservations are required, a minimum of 24 hours before service request, during JFS working hours (Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-3pm)
3. Unavailable to take same-day reservations
4. Standing appointments can be scheduled with the JFSGO team, up to one month in advance
   1. Passengers must notify JFSGO Team  24 hours in advance of any changes in recurring appointments, otherwise the no-show/cancellation fee will apply. JFS drivers cannot take reservations. Every effort will be made to honor reasonable requests.

 
Fees*:

• Basic round trip fee: $35​
• Multi-stop trip: Fee upon request
• Group Trip: Fee upon request
• No-show fee (failure to cancel 24 hours in advance): $15

No tipping is permitted through the transportation program. Contributions to JFS in honor of the drivers are welcome.

*JFS will not turn clients away due to inability to pay. Requests for fee adjustments require submission of JFS Fee Adjustment Request and subsequent approval by the JFS Fee Review Committee. Clients should contact their JFS case worker to initiate this process.
