NEW AMERICAN CLUB (NAC)

The New American Club (NAC) for Older Adults is a psychosocial support program for Russian-speaking seniors who were born in countries of the former Soviet Union. This program was developed by Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw to help these older adults access social and medical services, to offer them direct support, and to make their environment easier and friendlier through social networking and education.

Services are offered in English and in Russian on an on-going basis. Additional translating services are available, as needed. Staff help participants learn to negotiate available community resources and participate in opportunities designed to enhance friendships and relationships with others.

NAC provides assistance in the following areas:

  • Housing Referrals
  • Emergency Financial Assistance
  • Burial Services Assistance
  • Referrals/Resource Advocacy
