Our Team

Our therapists have been chosen for their skill, compassion, integrity and dedication to providing evidence-based, culturally-sensitive treatment. Our clinic is a training site for masters level professional counseling and social work students, who work in close consultation with their fully licensed supervisors to provide high quality counseling.

Meet Our Team

Loo Gen Seah-McCrea, MA, LPC, NCC
Loo Gen Seah-McCrea is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor who holds licensure in the State of Michigan to practice counseling. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College and Theological Seminary, Indiana. Loo Gen is also a 2018-2019 National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Minority Fellowship Program Master’s Mental Health (Youth) Fellow. She works mainly from a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Family Systems Therapy orientation with an emphasis on the integration of established counseling interventions and a culturally sensitive approach. Loo Gen has worked with both children, adolescents and adults (individuals and couples), helping them find solutions to their issues related to depression, anxiety, grief, stress and life-stage transitions, as well as family or intimate relationships.
Israel Illingworth, MA, LPC
Israel Illingworth is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan. Israel holds two Bachelor’s degrees from Wayne State University which are in Philosophy and Psychology. In addition, he holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Spring Arbor University. Israel utilizes evidence-based modalities which include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based interventions. He has experience working with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, life-stage, and relationship issues. In addition, he has experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples. Israel offers therapy in both English and Spanish.
Lindsey Theiss, LMSW
Lindsey Theiss is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in psychology and a master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. Lindsey uses a holistic, strengths-based approach to provide an open and non-judgmental environment for clients. She draws from a background in psychodynamic therapy and utilizes modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral therapy and incorporates experiential practices into sessions with clients. Lindsey has experience working with adults, youth and families on issues such as anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, grief, and trauma.
Megan Carmen, LMSW, CCTP
Megan Carmen is a Licensed Master Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through Evergreen Certifications.  Megan received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Psychology from Westminster College in Utah, and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.  Megan completed an internship in a children's outpatient setting, and worked in a boy's home for foster care youth doing extensive trauma work.  The majority of Megan’s clinical career has been working with children, youth, and families around coping with trauma, treating anxiety and depression, and stress management.  Megan utilizes a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, strategies to release trauma from the body, and mindfulness-based psychotherapies.  Megan works with ages 7 and up to assist clients and their families reach their goals and live their best lives!
Susanne Thomas, LPC
Susanne Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan.  Susanne holds a Bachelor degree from Wayne State University in Psychology along with two Master’s degrees.  One is in Management from Central Michigan University and the other is Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Michigan University. Susanne believes that it is essential that each client has a non-judgmental, empathic, and safe environment in which to explore feelings, thoughts, and beliefs, and where insights can be gained on the internal struggles that have been barriers to self-healing and transformation. To assist in the healing process, Susanne uses individualized approaches, integrating various methods that may include cognitive- behavioral therapy, solution focused therapies and
 Family Systems Therapy. 
Timothy Neal, LLMSW, MS, AT, CCISM
Timothy Neal is a limited licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Michigan. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree in education and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Ohio University, and an additional Master’s degree in education from Syracuse University. Additionally, Tim is a certified and licensed athletic trainer and an approved instructor of Critical Incident Stress Management from the International Critical Incident Stress Management Foundation. Tim is very active in athlete mental health issues, chairing two inter-association consensus statements on student-athlete psychological concerns (2013 for college athletes and another statement in 2015 on secondary school athletes) and has served on several NCAA task forces regarding student-athlete mental health and concussion management. Tim has experience in providing counseling to college athletes as well as adolescents and adults. Tim’s therapeutic modalities are founded in behavioral principles as well as cognitive behavioral and motivational approaches.
Ilya Davidovich, LMSW
Ilya Davidovich is a Licensed Master Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan. Ilya received his Medical Doctor degree in Russia where he was a practicing psychiatrist for 31 years and his Master’s degree in clinical social work from Eastern Michigan University with a concentration on mental health and chemical dependency. He worked at the Chelsea Arbor Treatment Center where he provided individual and group therapy for clients with co-occurring mental health and addiction problems. His ten years of working at Monroe Community Mental Health, as a mental health clinician and admission specialist, have enhanced his ability to work with a variety of crisis situations, with clients in acute stress, exacerbation of anxiety, decompensation of PTSD, and worsening depression. Ilya utilizes a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused and trauma informed CBT, supportive and cognitive enhancement therapy for elderly, mindfulness-based meditation and other relaxation techniques. He also works with youth and family problems. Ilya helps clients to overcome crisis situations and to reach their goals. Ilya offers counseling in English and Russian.
Christine Kleinheksel, LMSW
Christine is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who holds licensure in the State of Michigan to practice counseling.  She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in Child Psychology, and her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, specializing in child and family therapy. Christine has extensive experience working with children and adolescents.  She has worked with adolescents in an inpatient/outpatient setting at Harding Hospital in Columbus OH, as a mental health consultant for Columbus Consolidated Schools, and a child and family therapist for Michigan Medicine's RAHS school based health program. Christine uses primarily CBT, TF-CBT, art therapy, and play therapy, as she works with children ages 5-18. Christine offers therapy in both English and Spanish, and emphasizes a culturally sensitive approach with clients and families.
Cynthia Ketcherside, MA, LPC, NCC, CATP, ACS, CYMHS
Cynthia Ketcherside is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and a Masters of Arts from Eastern Michigan University. She holds licensure in the State of Michigan to practice counseling. Cynthia is acknowledged as a certified clinical trauma professional for children, adolescences and adults, and certified as a youth mental health specialist through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. Cynthia primarily works with children and adolescents. Cynthia has worked with clients who have experienced a wide variety of issues such as; body image concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, grief and loss. She utilizes a mix of both solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy in her treatment. Cynthia has a background running support groups for adolescents who have experienced trauma.
Shrina Eadeh, LMSW, CFSW
​Shrina Eadeh is a Licensed Master Clinical Social Worker and Certified Financial Social Worker who has been a dedicated member of the Thrive team since 2013. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Shrina specializes in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, major life transitions, and financial wellness. She also has a special focus on working with Asian Indian women, providing culturally responsive care tailored to their unique experiences. Shrina approaches therapy with empathy, compassion, and a deep commitment to client well-being. Using a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, she tailors her approach to meet each client’s unique needs, empowering them to move forward and achieve their personal goals.
Shadin Atiyeh, PhD, LPC, NCC, ACS, CCC, Certified EMDR Therapist, CRC
Shadin Atiyeh is an MA Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor and holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan in both Psychology and Middle Eastern studies; as well as a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Eastern Michigan University. She joined JFS in 2013 and holds licensure in the State of Michigan to practice counseling. She works with children, adults, and families on a broad spectrum of issues; including trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, isolation, cultural issues, and career development. She has experience working in various community agencies serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, immigrants and refugees, abused and neglected children, and homeless families.
Caroline Butler, LMSW
Caroline Butler is a Licensed Master Clinical Social Worker in both the states of Michigan and Illinois. Caroline received her Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Caroline completed a two-year post graduate fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago working in both the Emergency Department and inpatient settings. The majority of Caroline’s clinical career has been working with adults and families during periods of transitions, coping with trauma, treating anxiety and depression, and stress management. Caroline utilizes a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based psychotherapies, to help clients reach their goals.
Jill Kind, LMSW
Jill Kind is a Licensed Master Social Worker whose clinical focus has been women’s issues and adults coping with depression, anxiety, relationships and divorce, domestic violence, aging transitions and caregiver stresses.  Jill brings expertise in helping individuals deal with issues related to pet ownership and to develop strategies to resolve them. Her therapeutic methodology is founded in behavioral principles as well as motivational and cognitive behavioral approaches.
Chrissy Taylor, LMSW
Chrissy Taylor is a Licensed Master Clinical Social Worker whose clinical focus has been adults coping with issues surrounding addiction, depression, anxiety, as well the complicated impact of disability on one’s life.  Chrissy’s therapeutic methodology is founded in behavioral principles as well as motivational and cognitive behavioral approaches.
