​Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County is thrilled to present an evening of exceptional music with internationally celebrated pianist Martin Katz and Benjamin Isyk, a gifted opera singer and recent graduate of the UM School of Music, Theatre & Dance. This benefit concert is a celebration of generosity, as both Martin and Ben have graciously donated their performances to support JFS.

By attending and sponsoring this event, you can join us in supporting critical programs and services that empower individuals, support families and strengthen our community's most vulnerable members.
Registration begins at 6:15pm, followed by the program recital at 7pm. The performance will be followed by a dessert reception.

Tickets are $75 or $20 for students (must show student ID at the door).

About the Artists:

Martin Katz:
Hailed as “the most musically astute collaborator today” by The New York Times, Martin Katz is a legend in the world of collaborative piano. Over five decades, he has graced stages on five continents, accompanying luminaries such as Marilyn Horne, Frederica von Stade, José Carreras, and Cecilia Bartoli. A native of Los Angeles, Mr. Katz studied under pioneering teacher Gwendolyn Koldofsky at USC and has been a pivotal figure in training young artists through his work at the University of Michigan, where he chairs the collaborative piano program. Beyond the recital stage, Mr. Katz is also a conductor and author of the acclaimed book The Complete Collaborator.

Ben Isyk:
Benjamin Isyk, a 2024 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, is a dynamic and versatile vocalist. His performances range from leading roles in Puccini operas to a recent tour of The Music of Auschwitz in Europe. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Management at the Ross School of Business, Benjamin’s artistic achievements include standout roles in Orpheus in the Underworld and collaborations with Martin Katz in art song and aria recitals. His passion for connecting with audiences shines through every performance.
